Decolor

DESCRIPTION

DECOFRONT is a biocide-free dispersion water-borne coating used for preventing the cracking of wood gables due to (too rapid) drying (prevents or decreases the depth of cracking/micropores) – used for natural and artificial drying in wood-drying kilns. On the wood, it forms an elastic film that sticks to the wood surface very well.

The coating is most frequently used for cut wood, for semi-finished products in the furniture industry and/or carpentry, for timber logs in warehouses or sawmills etc.

It is also used in the processing of wood for semi-finished products used by furniture industry (so called decimated wood) and the preparation of wood for making parquet.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Prevents the cracking of wood during natural or artificial drying
  • A very good grip
  • Resistant to high temperatures
  • Elastic and vapour permeable
  • Intended mainly for the furniture and timber industry

USE

Instructions for Work: Decofront is ready for use as supplied. The wood it is to be applied must be clean (without sawdust and degreased). Suitable methods for application are spraying or coating (with brush or roller). The ambient (and wood) temperature must be at least +3°C; the optimum temperature for work is from +10°C to +20°C while the relative air humidity must not exceed 80%. Thinning of the product is not required, because it is already supplied with the optimum viscosity. Exceptionally, if the coating’s viscosity is too high for application, it can be thinned up to 5% with water – the added water has to be mixed in thoroughly (until homogenous).
Decofront adheres well to the wood surface, is resistant to high temperatures (bending, artificial drying), is vapour permeable and covers the wood surface well; the rate of evaporation is very low.

Coverage: Coverage must be a minimum of 0.3 l/m2. For more humid wood or accelerated drying procedures the coating application should be suitably increased up to 0.5 l/m2. The minimum coating thickness must be 0.300 mm (300 microns).

Drying: The coating is dust dry after approximately 2 to 4 hours and completely dry after approximately 24 hours.
